My Role

As the Senior Product Manager Lead, I led a Survey among Employees to find out levels of satisfaction and their understanding and alignment to the Corporate Strategy.

The Product

The C-suite was concerned that the Engineering team was not aligned to the Corporate Strategy and that it wasn't entirely clear.

The Process

Internal Surveys had never been done. I took to the challenge and designed a series of questions for the Teams.

I started by understanding the C-Suite concerns and the Goal they wanted to achieve.

Utilizing Google Forms, I crafted a series of questions, separated by topics: Corporate Goals and Strategy, Motivation, Company Culture, Employee Training, Tooling, and Team Organization.

Over a period of 1 week, I provided all employees with the URL of the Survey and gathered responses.

Once captured, I exported teh results to a Google Sheet and then created visualizations of the answers.  In addition, I interpreted the results and added my notes and comments to a presentation.

The results were then presented live to the Employees and Management.  Wih these results, the C-Suite made changes and int he following 6 months they started approving more Tools for Developers, training and started providing more presentations and communication about Company Strategy and Goals for our Organization.

    Management Communication

Management and Leadership teams should communicate often and clearly the Company's Strategy and Objectives to ensure teams work towards a common Goal.

    Listening to Employees

Providing ways for team members to provide feedback and for Management to act on it provides a better sense of belonging. It makes for loyal and happy employees.

    Training

In tech companies, keeping employees up to date in the latest tools, practices and technology allows for Operational efficiencies. This results in continuous improvements in the Product and the process.

    Culture

Despite poor conditions, when employees feel happy and part of the team, they can endure the poor conditions and remain "loyal". However, the product, the customers and the operations will suffer from a lack of motivation to improve.
